AI templates

Generate and tweak templates from a description.

Describe a graphic in plain words and Kinetra designs the template for you. Or take a template you have and say what should change.

AI templates are part of Pro and Team. You need to be signed in, and a project must be open. See Accounts and plans.

Generate a template

Open Templates and click Generate template.
Under Describe the graphic, write what you want, for example: “Lower third for a football match, club colors, bold names”. You can use up to 2,000 characters.
Optional:
- Type: Lower third, Full screen, Title, Corner bug, Ticker, Scoreboard, Countdown, Schedule, List or Other. Leave it on Any to let Kinetra decide.
- Brand colors: up to 4. They start as your project’s brand colors.
- Fonts: a heading font and a body font from Kinetra’s font list.
- Size: width and height in pixels. Fill in both or neither.
Click Generate.

The dialog closes and you can keep working. A panel at the bottom left shows Designing your template…. When it says Template ready, click Open.

The new template is a normal template in your project. Edit it like any other (see Templates and styles).

Tweak a template

Open the template in the editor and click Tweak with AI.
Under What should change?, write the change, for example: “Make it blue and move the name above the title”.
Click Tweak.

Kinetra makes a new template called “name (tweaked)”. Your original stays as it was. If you don’t like the result, delete the new template.

How many you can make

The dialog shows how many generations or tweaks you have left, for example “47 of 50 left this month · 9 of 10 today”. The numbers come from your plan:

New templates	50 a month, at most 10 a day	150 a month, at most 30 a day
Tweaks	300 a month	1,000 a month

Months follow the calendar (UTC). Generations that fail don’t count. See kinetra.live/pricing for current limits. Enterprise plans have custom limits. Contact [email protected].

Tips

Say what the graphic is for and what it shows: “A score bug for ice hockey with both teams, period and game clock”.
Set the Type when you know it. It helps Kinetra pick a sensible size.
Small, specific tweaks work better than many changes at once.
AI templates follow the same rules as any template: no scripts and nothing loaded from the internet. Use image fields for logos and photos.

Common problems

The button shows a lock and “Pro”

AI templates need Pro or Team. Click the button to sign in or to see the plans.

“Couldn’t generate this template. Try rephrasing.”

Kinetra couldn’t make a template from that description. Change the wording and try again. It doesn’t count against your quota.

“The result wasn’t a valid template” or “The result was cut off”

Try again. These don’t count against your quota.

“A template is already being generated. Wait for it to finish.”

Wait until the panel at the bottom left says Template ready, then start the next one.

“AI is paused for the rest of the month” or “AI is turned off right now”

AI is unavailable for a while. Everything else in Kinetra works as usual.

“Kinetra needs to connect to check your license before starting new Pro work.”

Kinetra has been offline for too long. Connect to the internet and try again. See Accounts and plans.

“Kinetra can’t reach the server.”

Check your internet connection. A job that is already running keeps trying in the background.

“Open a project to add the template.”

The project was closed before the result arrived. Open a project and generate it again.
